Valencia in October

Steve had to work during the Summer so we booked a holiday in October to Valencia and last week was THE week!

We left temperatures of 15 degrees and entered a world of 30 degrees plus. Valencia was experiencing an unusual heatwave for this time of year.

This was the view from our hotel suite. It looked beautiful at any time of day or night and we often just sat and stared out at the view!

Sand sculpture grabbed your attention.....

... including the last supper and angels....

We took the tourist bus and the "ordinary, every day,  Spanish take this bus" bus along leafy roads.

We wandered through the town where lemon and lime trees grew amidst the hustle and bustle.

We sat beneath umbrellas sipping sangria and people watching.

Back at the port, we sat in my favourite bar/restaurant looking out to sea.....

Sangria, paella, tapas, seafood, a spanish dictionary close to  hand to help schoolgirl Spanish lessons,
several books, hot hot weather - it was a time to be savoured and much enjoyed.

Yet it is good to be home too. Now that  this long awaited holiday has come and gone I finally feel that Summer is finished and I am enjoying the Autumn colours I have returned to.

Adios amigas!

  2. Have been to many parts of Spain, but strangely enough never to Valencia, so thank you for your lovely photos. Me gusta Espana mucho!
